In 2009, Diethelm Keller Brands allocated more resources to brand building, innovation and staff development, thereby enhancing its competitive position in its key markets. The acquisition of Outdoor Chef Group in the fourth quarter of 2009 openend the door to the European barbecue market. Overall sales were mainly affected by weak demand in export markets for aviation trolleys and cleaning machines, as well as unfavorable exchange rates. Despite lower sales, operating performance was maintained through cost reductions.
